Going on a bear hunt

Come and join us - we love going on a bear hunt. We feel sorry for the bear. We think he just wanted to play. He looks really sad going home alone.

Old favourite

If Alice the camel is the new favourite this is our old favourite - thanks again to Jan who introduced us to Pete. We also love his 'four groovy buttons' the new book.

Cat in the Hat assembly

We went to a great Cat in the Hat assembly that our friends in Room 6 ran.

Look at their cool hats! 

Even Russell Rocks dog had one. Can you see him in his hat?

Swimming has now finished. A big thank you to all those who made it possible and those who came to help especially, Whaea Helaina.

Water safety

We had lots of fun doing water safety activities at swimming.

We lay on them and kicked to make them go. Poor Kerry is caught in the middle and getting really, REALLY wet.

Lunchboxes

We read the book "Lunch Boxes".

We made a pile of lunchboxes just like in the book.





The tower got wobbly.

 Rangihana  tried to stop it from falling down....

"Look Out"  It fell over just like in our book.

Last week of swimming

Oh no! It's the last week of swimming. We have really enjoyed swimming and learnt lots.

We love the noodles and the flutterboards.

We are very grateful to  Leanne. Leanne comes to help us with P.M.P and has not only walked to and from Cannons Creek Pool with us, but also got in the pool to help.

Here she is swimming with Izzy. Thanks Leanne, as Whaea Sose would say, we couldn't do it without you.

Sun safe

We are lucky, as we will be sun safe in the sandpit with our new shade cloth.

Wow! the best class

 
Wow! The mystery teacher thought we were the best behaved class in the assembly and we got to have Russell Dog in our class till the next assembly.

Cannons Creek School visit

Look at the sky.

It was a beautiful hot day when Cannons Creek School came on Friday for the fun day.

We all had numbers on our hands telling us what team we were in.
There were some children from Cannons Creek School in each team.  Miss Forster helped the Cannons Creek School children find their teams.

Whaea Sose welcomed the people from Cannons Creek School and said it would always have a special place in her heart because she went there when she was a little girl.

We sang them a song and then we had lunch. A big, big, thank you to the mums and dads who helped cook the yummy sausages.

We are having lots of fun at Cannons Creek Pools and getting more confident in the water.

3 more butterflies

It was very exciting on Monday when we got to school and looked in the caterpillar castle we got from the Monarch Butterfly Trust.

There were three monarch butterflies .

All girls!

We let them go in the flagpole garden.

Whaea Nancy also had three butterflies hatch. Our butterfly garden is doing really well

Ice Blocks

We made ice blocks to eat. Oceana and Anareia put water in the ice block tray.

Then we added ice block sticks. The ice blocks were lovely and cold on a hot day but they didn't have much flavour so next we made ice blocks with orange juice.

 They were delicious.

 

Whaea Angela's birthday

It was Whaea Angela's birthday last week.
She brought a cake and we sang Happy Birthday.
Then we ate the cake. It was DELICIOUS! 

Graphs

We are learning about graphs.
We have been making graphs on our interactive whiteboard. We each had a post-it and put them on the board in the right place on the graph. We also made graphs for homework.
